Re: Good architects in Madurai
Madurai might not have many good architects, you will find good architects in Chennai, you can do the planning using them and then execute your plan using a contractor in Madurai.D.Murugan - Fanttasy Interior- Chennai, Cell# 98412 14330 and 9444200391. Shopping for Interiors in Chennai

We just blocked a villa in KG Builders Green meadows project. I have started collecting inputs for interiors in chennai. I searched the thread but it was in bits and pieces. I thought it would be a good idea to put together what I have collected so far. As people begin constructing for new homes it will be nice to have a single point of reference.

I am desperately looking for an design institute or an independent contractor who can solidly advise us on interiors based on our inputs to come up with materials available in India and at same time work with our existing things (many collected from different parts of world) to co-exist with them. Any pointers on this pls.....???

Most of the links below I have collected from this forum.

Main thing looking for is what you chose and why. If anyone has built a home recently your inputs will be greaty appreciated. Someone can use these in future as well.

Example I chose these tiles or this chimnyy because and preferably pros and cons. thanks

This is very helpful.
Have you considered Damro and Godrej Interio for furniture? Curious about their quality.

Thanks,

Several stores in the US are carrying handmade rugs from INDIA/PAK and some other MidEastern countries. Also costco has special exhibits on INDIA/PAK handmade rugs. The quality of those Rugs are very good. But the cost of them are waaaaaaaaaaayy HIGH!!!!

Is it possible to buy them from India and carry them as a checked in luggage during our India visit. Are there any good shops in CHENNAI?

If you can fold the rug and pack it into a suitcase or a box with the allowed dimensions and weight you can bring it with you as a checked luggage.

Indian.Sam - you seem to have a whole lot of info. Thanks for sharing them. I am surprised there are so few entries here. I am sure many of you would have started a new construction and would have shopped for interiors from scratch. Kindly request members to post in this thread for benefit of others.
