தமிழ் கலாச்சாரத்தின் விதையை கொண்டு தமிழர்களின் பாரம்பரிய கட்டிட கலை அம்சங்களை எடுத்துரைக்கும் வகையில் கட்டப்பட்டுவரும் பிரியா ரவி நேயகம். திருவாரூரில் கட்டப்படும் இவ்வில்லம் ஒரு இயற்கை சிற்பமாய் பல பச்சை முற்றங்களை கொண்டு அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. பாரம்பரியமிக்க ஆதங்குடியினரின் கைவண்ணத்தில் ஆதங்குடி ஓடுகள் (Athangudi Tiles) மற்றும் முழுவதுமாய் வெளிப்படும் செங்கச்சுவர்களும் (Exposed Brick) கொங்கிறீற்றுடன் இணைந்து அழகு சேர்கின்றது. வீட்டின் உள்ளே நாற்காளிகளுக்கு வேலையின்றி வீட்டின் அமைப்பிலேயே உட்கார் வடிவங்கள்( Seaters) அமர உதவுகின்றது. வீட்டில் உள்ளவர்கள் அனைவருடனும் கலந்து உரையாடும் வகையில் முற்றங்களுடன் கூடிய அரங்கு இருக்கை ( Amphitheatre) அமைந்துள்ளது. வீட்டின் உள்ளே அதிக ஒளியை கொண்டு வர மங்களூர் ஒடுகளுடன் (Mangalore tiles) கண்ணாடியால் கூரையில் அழகிய ஒளிவீசும் படிவங்களாய் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. நுண்ணிய துளை செங்கல்(Porotherm Bricks) மற்றும் எலி பொறி சுவர்களால் (Rat - trap Bond) கட்டப்பட்டு வீட்டின் உள்ளே சம பண்பமைதியையும் (moderate climate) தொலை ஒதுக்கிடமுமாய் (Privacy) அமைந்துள்ளது.

A lovable residence for Mrs.Priya Ravi is been constructed with a pure essence of Tamil culture and tradition. The house is built with green courtyards blending the built structure with the environment and out sizing our views towards Tamil tradition and culture. The blend of athangudi tiles on the floors with the exposed brick walls make magic on walls. Exposed concrete & Porothom bricks on a combination acts as providing moderate temperature as well as a perfect privacy to the beholders. The amphitheater plays a good role in making people of family spend time together. The Mangalore light roof adds rays of glory to the residence.

APCWT SCHOOL, MELMARUVATHUR

சிறுவயது குழந்தைகள் முதல் பெரிய மாணவர்கள் வரை கல்வி பகிழும் பள்ளியாய் உருவாக்கப்பட்டு வரும் இப்பள்ளி, மற்ற பள்ளிகளை போல் இல்லாமல் குழந்தைகளுக்கு பிடிக்கும் வகையிலும் வழக்க மரப்பிற்கு மாறாக அமைக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
மேம்படுத்துனர் மிகவும் வழமையான பள்ளியை நிறுவ நினைத்து வந்தனர் நாம் குழந்தைகளுக்கும் , மாணவர்களுக்கும் பிடிக்கும் வகையில் முழுவதுமாக வெளிபடும் செங்கற் சுவர்களை உபயோகித்து ஒரு முழுவதும் மாறுபட்ட பள்ளியை நிறுவிக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றோம்.குழந்தைகளும்,மாணவர்களும் இயற்கையுடன் இணைய வெளிபடும் கான்கிரீட் மற்றும் மகிழ்ச்சியூட்டும் வண்ண படிவங்களால் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இரு மாடி உயர தளங்களும் பச்சை முற்றங்களும் தாழ்வாரங்களே (Corridor) சிறுவர்கள் ஊடாடி (Interactive) மகிழும் வண்ணம் அமைக்கப்பட்டுவருக்கின்றது.

The APWCT School, tucked away from the city buzz in a semi-urban area Melmaruvathur was designed with a sense of locality and as a user-centric design. The school creates a dialogue with the surroundings of the site, as the team produced a building for the modern era which manages to also remain firmly rooted in the vernacular traditions of India’s past.
Designing a school is always exciting and challenging at the same time, since it is about dealing with the energy of children of different age groups, from nursery kids to adolescent teens. Each age group has specific psychological and physical needs which have implications on architecture and conceiving of spaces.
While designing schools, architecture offers immense potential and freedom, which also needs to be accompanied by understanding and observations on how children use and experience space through the years which we have tried to integrate in this school.
There are also different kinds of needs and curiosities that have to be met - to allow the young child to try and catch a ray of sunlight in their hands, for older children to have space for studying alone or in group, spaces for individual teaching.
The main objective was to create a connect between the green spaces and the built-up, to bring the children closer to the nature. An interplay of light and shadows was achieved with large openings and brick screen walls. The provision for natural light into each classroom has facilitated in making the building a sustainable design. The classrooms are placed around central courtyards which introduces green spaces into the built environment and also favours in maintaining the thermal comfort by inducing stack effect. All the spaces are naturally ventilated and lit.
The corridors act as interaction spaces apart from connecting the different blocks. The corridors were designed to make them look joyful. There is a play of volume and light along the corridor.The corridors weave through the spaces connecting through the spaces in a linear fashion, with the courtyards visually breaking the linearity and forming buffer zones by bringing in the green spaces. Informal seating in the courtyards make the entire building lively.
On the whole with its unique architecture ,the classroom block connects and communicates with the students in a way which will create a lasting impression in their journey of life.

VINOD RESIDENCE - EXPERIMENTING THE CONSTRUCTION ON INCLINED BRICK WALL

சாய்க்கோண செங்கற் சுவர்களின் ஆய்வு. ( Experimenting the Construction of Inclined brick wall)
நகர்ப்புற காடுகளின் இடையில் கட்டப்பட்ட செங்கற் சுவரின் துளைகளின் மூலம் வீட்டின் உள்ளே ஒளியை பரப்புகின்றது.
திரு. வினோத் அவர்களுக்கு இறைவன் தந்த வரமாய் பிறந்த தன் மகளை தனிமையில் அடைக்க விரும்பாது பல நிலையில் தளங்களை கொண்டு திறந்த முற்றங்களுடன் இணைகின்றது. இந்த வீடு ஒரு பரவெளிக்குள் இன்னொரு பரப்பை கொண்டு அமைந்துள்ளது.
வீட்டின் வயது முதிந்தவர்கள் தங்கள் குடும்பத்தாருடன் வார விடுமுறையை கழிக்கின்றனர்.
அடித்தளத்தில் வீட்டின் சரியொத்த அறை மற்றும் சமயலறையில் இருந்து நீச்சல் குளத்தை பார்க்கும் வண்ணம் வீட்டின் மையத்தில் உள்ள முற்றம் உதவுகின்றது.
இடைத்தளத்தில் விருந்தினருக்கான அறையுடன் பொழுதுபோக்கு அறை மற்றும் அனைவரும் அமர்ந்து நேரம் கழிக்கும் வகையில் அமைந்துள்ளது. முதல் தளத்தில் பணிமனை மேலுரிமையாளர் அறையுடன் (Master Bedroom) கூடிய பச்சை பசும் முற்றங்களும் இருபுறங்களிலும் திரைமறைவான மச்சின் பாகம் (Private balcony) கொண்டு சிறப்பிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
மகளின் அறையில் நீளம தூணிடைப்பலகணி அமைந்துள்ளது. முன் உள்ள சாய்க்கோண செங்கற் சுவர்களும் பச்சை முற்றங்களும் இயற்கையுடன் இணைந்து வாழும் உணர்வை உண்டாக்குகிறது.

The structure of Phoenix for Selvi. J.Jayalalitha is starting to stand out from the ashes.
It was indeed a new experience for us to construct the structure of Phoenix with many new technologies which is quite a different initiative by us. The molds and spring jockey for the structure of Phoenix is assembled by their expertise.Levels of concrete built as base leg structure of the Phoenix stands out underneath its wings.Jockey is used to adjust heights. Apart from manual box shuttering other equipments are brought from foreign lands.

பெருங்குடியில் அமைந்துள்ள இந்த வீட்டில் முழுவதுமாக வெளிப்படும் ( Exposed Brick) பச்சை முற்றங்கள் ( Green court) உடன் இணைந்து அழகு சேர்கின்றது. வீட்டின் நுழைவு வருபவரை வரவேற்கும் வண்ணம் கற்களுடன் கூடிய இயற்கையும் ( Hard landscape) உறவினர்கள் கூடி மகிழும் சபை இடம் ( Gathering space) இரும்புகுதிரையின் இடத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளது.
வீட்டின் சரியோத்த அறை (Living room) பல திண்ணை வடிவில் உட்கார் படிவங்களும் அதனுடன் நீண்டு நிற்கும் பச்சை முற்றங்களும் (Green courts) வெளிச்சுவர்களில் நிலைக்குத்து துளைகளும் வீட்டின் உள்ளே அதிக இயற்கை வெளிச்சத்தையும் காற்றையும் ஓட செய்கின்றது.
சரியோத்த அறையில் இருந்து சமையல் அறையின் ஒரு பாகத்தை பார்த்து மேலும் பார்க்க தூண்டும் வகையில் இருக்கின்றது. வீட்டின் படிக்கெட்டின் கீழ் மீன் குளம் (Koi pond) படுக்கையறையில் உள்ள முற்றங்களில் இருந்து வேலையிடம் வழியே வந்து இணைகிறது. மேலும் நீண்டு நிற்கும் மூங்கில் குழல் காம்புகள் மேற்மட்டத்தில் (Bamboo pergolas) அமைந்து சூரிய ஒளியை முற்றங்களில் வரவேற்கின்றது. வீட்டின் முதல் தளத்தில் ஊஞ்சற்ப்படுகை (Hammock) அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. மேற்கூரைக்கு செல்லும் படிக்கெட்டு இரும்பு சட்டத்தினுடன் கூடிய துளை செங்கல் ( Porous Brick) பச்சை முற்றங்களுடன் சேர்ந்து மாயம் செய்கின்றது. மொத்தத்தில் இந்த வீடு நல்ல செயற்கை கைதிறன் கொண்டு அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
