MARG wellness healthcare centre initially constructed with a civil framework for an institution came to us with a challenge of developing into a highly equipped eco-friendly multispeciality wellness retreat centre, comprising of five levels where the first 3 levels are dedicated to hospital services and the upper two levels for assisted living for elders further followed by a terrace garden.
Our approach went on to explore and produce a net zero building with the incorporation of biophilic design to provide a sustainable and human centric design converging to create environments that not only minimize environmental impact but also enhance the health, well-being, and connection to nature of their inhabitants.
The highly equipped wellness centre comprises of vast facilities as follows: hydrotherapy pool, specially designed and well equipped OT , multi faith room at each floor providing a diverse experience for the users, large exercise area with therapy cubicle ,vast space dedicated to physiotherapy amenities like badminton court at the rear side, beautifully designed and as the day unfolds, the terrace garden transforms into a vibrant oasis of life and activity.
- Natural Light and Views: Ample daylighting and panoramic views of nature enhance indoor environments, fostering a sense of openness and connection to the outdoors.
- Living Systems Integration: Green roofs, living walls, and indoor plants introduce vegetation into urban settings, improving air quality, reducing stress, and fostering biodiversity.
- Natural Materials and Textures: Wood, stone, and other natural materials evoke a sense of warmth and authenticity, creating spaces that resonate with the natural world.
- Patient-Centered Design: focuses on creating spaces that prioritize comfort, privacy, and dignity, empowering patients to participate actively in their care journey.
- Biophilic Design : Drawing inspiration from nature, biophilic design seeks to incorporate natural elements such as daylight, greenery, and water features into the built environment, thereby, can reduce stress, promote healing, and improve overall well-being.
- Wayfinding and Accessibility : Thoughtful wayfinding strategies, including clear signage, intuitive layouts, and accessible pathways have been incorporated to help reduce anxiety and ensure seamless navigation throughout the facility.
